Stars and Stripes Camp

When: June 22nd-26th 9:00a.m. - 12:00p.m.

Who: Incoming Kinder-2nd

What: Focus on reading, math and art. 

3rd Grade Reading Comprehension and Writing Camp

When: July 20th-24th 9:00a.m. - 12:00p.m.

Who: Ideal for incoming 3rd graders

What: Focus on preparing for the TAG exam. 

BACK TO SCHOOL CAMP: Kinder Academy

When: August 3rd-7th 9:00a.m. - 12:00p.m.

BACK TO SCHOOL CAMP: 1st and 2nd Graders

When: August 3rd-7th 1:00p.m. - 4:00p.m.

BACK TO SCHOOL CAMP: Pre-K4

When: August 11th-14th 9:00a.m. - 12:00p.m.

Applications for the $1,500 PDSES Grant open on April 1st. Literacy Love is an approved PDSES vendor and can accept these funds. To be eligible, a student must:

• Be currently enrolled in a Texas public school

  (Grades Pre-K through 12).

• Receive special education services through an Individualized Education Program (IEP).

• Have not received a PDSES grant in the past

  (this is a one-time-only grant).

Scottish Rite for Children is launching "The Write Idea," a new, specialized curriculum designed to support students with dysgraphia, with a pilot program starting in Summer 2026. This innovative program aims to address handwriting and written expression difficulties using structured, research-backed methods tailored to students with learning differences, building on their established expertise in dyslexia intervention.

Literacy Love staff hopes to be trained this fall so we can better support our students. 

Summer registration opens on March 27th for families who complete our survey. Registration will open to the general public on March 30th. Please monitor our social media channels for further updates.

Moms In Community is a support system where we will highlight and share the information of professional moms in our community who offer services that we believe are important and helpful to our students and their academic success.

Melisa Rau is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Play Therapist (RPT), and ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) with over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families. She specializes in providing therapeutic support for children and teens struggling with a myriad of issues, such as emotional regulation, frustration tolerance, social situations, low self-esteem, and anxiety or depression. In addition, she also specializes in providing executive functioning training for individuals who struggle navigating the complexities of ADHD and neurodivergent learning.
