The Fundamentals of Literacy Love

Research shows the earlier you start interventions the earlier you can mitigate the symptoms of dyslexia or other literacy deficits.

Dyslexia Therapy

Did you know between 5 and 15 percent of people have dyslexia? Which means it’s perfectly normal! People with dyslexia just learn differently.

Advocacy for Students and Parents

What questions should you ask? Who should you talk to? Literacy Love can help you become the best advocate your child can have.

Reading and Writing Enrichment

Children should have fun as they sharpen their reading and writing skills. We build a solid foundation in literacy while also building confidence.

Private Tutoring

Some students respond best to one-on-one instruction. We can make tutoring sessions fun.

Proactive Literacy

Being proactive about learning to read in preschool is setting up your children for success and promoting confidence before they enter kindergarten.

Literacy Affects All Subjects

Literacy is not just about reading and writing. Literacy effects reading, writing, math, science and social studies. At Literacy Love, we care about the whole child and their education experience and we offer tutoring and classes for all subjects.

What People Are Saying

“I can’t say enough good things about Mrs. Duffy. My daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia going into first grade and the tools and confidence Mrs. Duffy have given her have been life changing. My daughter believes in herself, participates in class, and knows that she will succeed. She would not be where she is without Mrs. Duffy’s support and expertise and we highly recommend her.”

Sending my kids to Literacy Love is hands down one of the best academic decisions we’ve made this year. The Literacy Love team is full of experienced and highly effective educators who are able to coach kids in a smaller and more focused environment. My 1st grade daughter started the year as a non-reader and very anxious and shy. In one semester of weekly sessions, she has made incredible progress and is a full-blown confident reader with the support of Literacy Love. My son has also benefited from weekly focus on writing and critical reading skills which will help him get to the next level academically. Most importantly, the Literacy Love team gives our family support to strengthen our kids confidence and interest in learning. I highly recommend Literacy Love!

“I met Mrs. Duffy 2.5 years ago, when my daughter, Campbell, was in 1st grade and diagnosed with dyslexia. My husband and I were searching for the best treatment and intervention options. After meeting with her, we knew she was the right choice for our daughter.

“Campbell’s struggles with reading were significant. She avoided reading and lacked confidence. I would often find her crying. She was convinced that she was dumb. Mrs. Duffy helped Campbell understand that her brain just works differently, and together they would retrain her brain.

“The progress that Campbell has made under Mrs. Duffy’s guidance has been miraculous. Her ability to decode words is exploding. She loves to read books to me at night. When we drive in a car, she reads all the road signs and tells me the names of all the businesses.

“Now, she embraces her dyslexia instead of trying to hide it. She thinks it’s her SUPERPOWER.

“Mrs. Duffy has a PASSION for dyslexia diagnosis and intervention. Helping dyslexic children and their families brings her JOY. She has made a tremendous difference in my daughter’s life. She has given my daughter a precious gift, the ability to read with confidence. For that, my husband and I will be forever grateful.”
